English Time and Weather Carved Wall Clock in Honduran Mahogany
This English time and weather wall clock, dating to the 1880s, is a testament to the elegance and craftsmanship of Victorian-era horology.
Incorporating both timekeeping and weather monitoring functions, this clock is as functional as it is beautiful. An 8-inch engraved and silvered Roman numeral dial displays the time powered by an 8-day timepiece movement and protected by a beveled crystal. A thermometer, nestled in the throat of the clock, features an engraved silvered dial, providing accurate temperature readings. At the top of the clock sits a skeletonized aneroid barometer, allowing users to monitor changes in atmospheric pressure—a crucial tool for predicting weather patterns during the 19th century. Encased in deep relief hand-carved Honduran mahogany, this timepiece exudes sophistication, with intricate detailing and scrollwork throughout.
