Swiss Triple Complication Minute-Repeater Pocket Watch
A masterful example of Swiss horology, this triple-complication minute-repeater pocket watch showcases extraordinary craftsmanship and mechanical prowess.
Housed within an impressive 18K yellow gold hunter case, a staggering 39-jewel movement powers a sophisticated array of complications.
A captivating minute-repeater function stands as the highlight of this pocket watch. Widely regarded as the apex of horological complications, this watch announces the time down to the minute on two separately tuned gongs coiled within the case. The impressive complication is activated by sliding a lever, which simultaneously winds and triggers the repeat action. The watch chimes the number of hours, the number of quarter-hours past the hour, and the remaining individual minutes past the quarter-hour with a distinct sequence of tones.
The porcelain dial reflects the complexity of the watch beautifully. A full calendar displays the day at the 9 o’clock subsidiary dial, the month at the 12 o’clock subsidiary dial, and the day at the 3 o’clock subsidiary dial. At the 6 o’clock position, a subsidiary seconds dial tracks the time, accompanied by a moon phase in the center. The time displays upon Roman numeral hour markers with pierced scroll gilt hands, adding to its luxurious aesthetic. A 300-division 2/10th of a second scale appears at the outer perimeter, used for timing rapid events/reactions/movements, accompanied by a chronograph stopwatch triggered by a button at the top of the case.
Measuring 60mm in diameter, this extraordinary timepiece is a testament to the golden era of Swiss watchmaking, combining astounding complexity with timeless elegance.
This watch bears a complete restoration and a one-year warranty.
