French Engraved Gilt Brass Carriage Clock by Drocourt
This very nice French carriage clock has a unique connection to an historical event. That event is the Great Pantechnicon Fire which occurred in Belgravia, London on February 13, 1874. The facade of the very substantial Greek style building still stands today. You’ll find a very intriguing story when you do a little research that will add insight to the engraved sentiment on the base.
Additionally this lovely clock is housed in an intricately molded Gorge case that is finely engraved. This type of craftsmanship was typically reserved for higher quality clocks. Also adding to its appeal is the 8-day movement with a hammer striking a coil gong on the hour and quarter hour, alarm, and repeat at will.
This clock comes with a one year warranty, and is a special little clock indeed.
