Chinese Hand Carved White Marble Fu Dogs
This handsome pair of Chinese Fu dogs has been hand-carved from white marble. Fu dogs, also known as lions, have origins dating back to the 2nd Century BC. A pair is represented by a female with pup, or cub, underfoot and a male with ball underfoot. They are considered to be auspicious in Asian cultures. This charming pair is everything it should be with age lending a nice patina to the marble. They will suit a myriad of decorative purposes and are quite manageable in size.
