French Exceptional Marble and Bronze Mantel Regulator
This beautiful French mantel clock exudes the culture and refinement of the classical revival movement of the late 1800s to early 1900s. Featuring an architectural case of Belgian black marble with beveled glass front and back, and accented by Italian rouge marble and bronze. A large sphere of rouge marble embellished with swag and lion mask bronze ormolu surmounts a bell top with acanthus leaf mounts. The case is appointed with gadrooned urn finials at each extended corner over four free-standing rouge marble columns with Corinthian capitals and further urn and swag embellishment. Bronze ormolu also ornaments the center of the clock top and below as well as the spandrels. The conforming base is raised on bronze gadrooned feet.
Keeping the time within this impressive clock is an 8-day movement with an oversized mercury pendulum. A bell strike announces the hour and half-hour. The time displays within a decorative bezel on a rouge marble dial with decorative center, gilt Roman numerals, and trident style hands.
And finally, this exceptional mantel regulator bears a complete restoration and a one-year warranty.
