French Mahogany Mantel Clock With Gilt Bronze Rooster
This French mantel clock features a gilt bronze rooster crowing on a stack of books mounted atop the case. There are various other artistic touches to the rich mahogany case, such as the ormolu flower forms at each corner of the front case and detailed roping trims.
The clock has a hand painted porcelain convex dial with Arabic numerals at the hour as well as at the five minute intervals. It also has very nice Fleur-de-lis brass hands, and the dial is beneath a convex crystal. The 8-day bell strike movement strikes the hour and half hour. The diminutive brass bun feet finish the case very nicely.
This distinctive mantel clock is restored and comes with a one year warranty.
