German Hand Carved Oak Hall Clock
This magnificent German hall clock is a beautiful example of fine Victorian-era clockmaking. Housed in a richly colored oak case, the clock features exquisite hand-carved relief throughout. Depictions of flowers, flowing acanthus leaves, and a North Wind face at the base adorn the clock in remarkable dimension and captivating realism.
A substantial 8-day three-weight movement drives the clock. A choice of eight bells or four gongs will chime the quarter hour while a large cathedral gong strikes the hour. A pierced and engraved brass dial mask with a silvered chapter ring indicates the time on Roman numerals with a subsidiary seconds dial below the 12 o’clock. Above the chapter ring, a “broken arch” displays a medallion with a winged phoenix and the words Tempus Fugit below.
This masterful hall clock is fully restored and has a one-year warranty.
