French Empire Mantel Clock in White Marble
This exquisite French mantel clock is a wonderful work of artistry and craftsmanship from the Empire period. Ornate cast brass ormolu depicting florals, acanthus leaves, and cherubs adorn the beautiful white marble case. Beadwork trims the clock throughout, and an elaborate decorative urn sits atop appointed with phoenix form handles, flame top, and floral swags. The front canted corners also feature applied embellishment of scrolls and lovely female mascarons.
An eight-day movement runs the clock and strikes a bell at the hour and half hour. The time is displayed on a white porcelain dial with blue Roman numerals and pierced serpentine hands. Furthermore this exceptional clock bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
