French Pendule D’Officier Style Desk Clock
A distinctive clock in the style of pendule d’officier, or officer’s traveling clock. This style has its roots in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Handsomely crafted in richly veined verde marble with gilt bronze ormolu. The concave-sided top is fitted with a carrying handle, beaded trim, and ribbon mount. The case is appointed with foliate mounts and is raised on turned and beaded feet. An 8-day manual-wind movement with bell strike keeps the time, which displays on a clean white porcelain dial within a beaded and ribbed bezel. The dial features Arabic numerals, minute markers, fleur de lis hands, and is signed C. D. Peacock. This chic timepiece suits a variety of decor and has a one year warranty.
