This spectacular American crystal regulator by the Ansonia Clock Company rests in an exceptional gilt brass and wood case. The clock’s base and top pediment is crafted of richly colored mahogany, with luxurious gilt ormolu adding impeccable contrast. Opulent scrollwork castings adorn each pillar of the clock while floral detail decorate the boarders. At the center of the clock rests a porcelain dial displaying the time on Roman numerals with an impressive skeletonized Brocot escapement visible underneath the 12 o’clock. Finally, a gilt urn accompanied by petite accent finals at each corner surmount the clock in a dramatic flourish.
An 8-day movement powers the clock which strikes the hour and half-hour on a tuned gong.
