Scottish Keyhole Tall Case Clock
This lovely Scottish tall case clock was crafted in the mid-19th century by clockmakers James and Kelley of Glasgow. Skillfully crafted in highly figured fiddleback mahogany veneers and alluringly proportioned in a keyhole or drumhead shape. This notable case shape was favored for its clean lines and large round hood. The hood is framed with beautiful scroll and foliate carvings and rests above a gently tapering waist section continuing to the base supported on bun feet.
Powering the clock within is an 8-day 2-weight movement that strikes the hour on a large bell. The time displays on the large painted dial with Roman numerals and moon-style hands. Two subsidiary dials keep the seconds and the date. This wonderful timepiece bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
