Scottish Flame Mahogany Arch Top Bracket Clock
This elegant bracket clock dates to the mid-1800s and is a wonderful example of Scottish clockmaking.
The clock is encased in rich flame mahogany that exhibits beautiful grain and exudes warmth and sophistication. The case further boasts intricate hand-carved pierced fretwork skillfully executed below the dial, adding a touch of refinement and showcasing the artisan’s attention to detail and mastery of woodwork. The arch top design enhances the clock’s aesthetic appeal, giving it beautiful proportions and shape. The time displays on a painted iron dial with Roman numerals and blued steel spade hands. An 8-day, 2-train fusee movement powers the clock, striking the hour and half-hour on a tuned bell.
As a testament to its origin and heritage, the clock dial bears the signature “Jamieson Aberdeen.”
