German Polyphon 15 1/2″ Disc Music Box
This beautiful disc music box was expertly crafted by renowned German manufacturer Polyphon of Leipzig, Germany. Dating to 1890, the instrument resides in an exceptional burl walnut case with floral marquetry on the lid exterior and hand-carved detail throughout. The burl grain adds rich dimension, while a delightful cherubic musical scene under glass adds wonderful artistry to the inner lid.
A double-comb musical movement resides within the case, producing a rich and complex sound. A simple winding of the crank powers the mechanism, while the flick of a lever lets the musical magic begin. This box plays the highly popular 15 1/2″ disc size, which are widely available and interchangeable with Regina discs, representing the broadest disc availability on the market today. In addition to hundreds of antique discs, over 1,000 titles are available on newly produced discs, along with the option of custom-made discs with any music you desire.
This music box comes with a selection of six antique discs of your choosing. This machine bears a complete restoration and carries a one-year warranty.
