French Brass Mantel Clock With Columns
This mantel clock is a beautiful example of French clockmaking. Floral garlands and pierced work along the pediment and base frame the brass case in artful detail. The time displays on stylized Arabic cartouche numerals mounted on a sleek silvered dial, adding elegant contrast to the case. Scroll and leaf fretwork adorn the dial center, drawing interest to the center of the clock. Finally, two ornate fluted Corinthian columns flank the clock, creating dramatic presence reminiscent of a temple entrance.
A two-train movement strikes a gong on the hour and half hour. This clock bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
