American Kyser Rex Mechanical Bank
Originally manufactured in the 1800’s, cast iron mechanical banks were intended as toys to encourage children to save money. They are and remain irresistibly entertaining, and have become an avidly collected American antiquity. This wonderful little bank depicts a uniformed monkey seated atop an organ waiting to deposit your coins. With a crank the monkey receives the coin, drops it into the bank, and tips his hat. This charming and coveted piece of Americana presents in very good condition.
