This terrific open-face pocket watch dates to 1919 and the dawn of the chic Art Deco era. It was expertly crafted by the highly respected Waltham Watch Company of Waltham, Massachusetts. A sleek 14K yellow gold case by Solidarity of Brooklyn, New York houses the 17 jewel nickel-finished and adjusted movement. The time displays on a handsome silvered and engraved dial contrasted by an engraved relief decorative center. Breguet-style blued steel hands point to angular Art Deco numerals and a seconds subsidiary dial features prominently at the 6 position.

Art Deco style characteristics were partly influenced by a worldwide celebration of industrialization. Not only is this timepiece a testament in artistic design, but Waltham uniquely had gained world acclaim for its precision machination of watch parts.
