American Regina 15 1/2″ Disc Music Box
Crafted at the turn of the 20th century Regina disc music boxes are truly a delight. The Regina Music Box Company of Rahway, New Jersey, held international prestige from the 1880s to the advent of the phonograph, well-known for producing the best quality disc music boxes in the United States.
This beautiful example is housed within a superbly crafted serpentine mahogany case and plays 15 1/2″ discs. The double comb spring wound mechanism is situated on a short bedplate. The double comb allows for twice as many note strikes producing a more complex sound.
This wonderful musical mechanical antique bears a complete restoration and a one-year warranty, and a selection of six antique discs is included. The 15 1/2″ disc was and still is the most widely available size with hundreds of antique discs and over 1,000 titles available on newly produced discs.
