American Victor VI 78 RPM Phonograph
This Victor model VI is a superb example of the American Victor Company’s top phonograph model of the early 1900s. The Honduran mahogany case exhibits a lovely patina and houses Victor’s most advanced and largest spring-wound motor. The larger spring allows for extended playtime and powers the turntable for approximately 15 minutes on a full wind. In addition, the sizable turntable allows the machine to play 10″ or 12″ records.
The case features gilt brass accents on the tone arm and carved Corinthian columns at each corner. These embellishments were only available in Victor’s top models and an indication that someone could afford the highest quality phonograph of the day.
Furthermore, this phonograph boasts a beautiful spearpoint wood horn, Victor’s finest and the most expensive horn option of the early 1900s, named for the spear-like points carved into the perimeter. These horns were challenging to produce and are among the rarest and most desirable models to acquire today.
This beautiful phonograph bears a complete restoration and a one-year warranty.
