Chinese Hand Carved Lapis Blue Sodalite Bowl

An intriguing Chinese hand-carved bowl that has been artfully carved from a piece of lapis blue sodalite. Heavy relief carvings depict 4 salamanders milling about the 13 inch wide oblong bowl. A fine polish produces a subtle sheen and brings out the wonderful veins of color in this decorative mineral.
