Chinese Hand Carved Soapstone Buddha

This Buddha figure is deftly hand-carved in amber-hued soapstone. Displaying fine details throughout. The Buddha appears to be reading a scroll depicting Chinese characters. Raised on a very nice articulated wood pedestal with floral and foliate motif.
