English George III-Style Diminutive Tall Case Clock
This George III-style diminutive tall case clock is a rare and wonderful piece of history. Standing at only 62″, this clock features a petite size yet marvelously retains the proportional design elements of a full-sized tall case clock.
The clock is crafted from rich Honduran mahogany and features a beautiful and elegantly designed swan neck pediment top with fluted columns and clean and sophisticated lines throughout. An engraved and silvered Roman numeral chapter ring displays the time from within a brass arch-top dial. In contrast, brass corner spandrels and pierced blued steel hands further exemplify the attention to detail that went into creating this remarkable clock.
Uniquely, a German weight-driven 8-day Vienna regulator movement dating to the late 19th century powers this clock, which fits the diminutive case wonderfully. The mechanism delivers a beautiful hour strike on a tuned gong, making it both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
This delightful and petite clock bears a complete restoration and a one-year warranty.
