English High Grade 18K Gold Pocket Watch by Robert Bryson of Edinburgh
This handsome pocket watch is a wonderful example from renowned Scottish watchmaker Robert Bryson of Edinburgh. Crafted in 18K yellow gold, this case features rich detail throughout. Refined scroll and leaf engravings adorn the dial center, as well as the reverse side of the watch case. Polished gold Roman numeral markers display the time, creating a beautiful contrast with the engine turned chapter ring. An engine-turned subsidiary rests at the 6 o’clock mark bringing classic balance to the watch face.
The timepiece houses a high-grade chain-fusee movement, which is fully restored and bears a one-year warranty.
Robert Bryson of Edinburgh (1778 – 1852) was a well-respected royal clock and watchmaker to Queen Victoria of England. Bryson was also responsible for making the Sidereal Regulator Longcase Clock for the Edinburgh Observatory.
