English Large Hand Carved Oak Armchair
This splendid oak armchair is a wonderful example of skilled English craftsmanship in the mid 1800s. Victorian and Rococo Revival characteristics are exhibited in the beautiful carvings of flowers, scrolling foliate and acanthus leaves, and shell centering the crest. The stiles, arm supports, legs, and stretcher are very nicely turned and fluted. Floral tapestry fabric in a lovely color palette is fitted to the back and seat and perfectly complements the period elements of this wonderful armchair.
