English Mahogany George III Bracket Clock
This lovely English bracket clock is beautifully crafted in mahogany that has achieved a warm rich patina. A clean and elegant presentation featuring an inverted bell top with brass carrying handle, finely carved dimpled trims to the front door and arched brass dial, glass panels on all sides, and raised on a bracket-footed base.
Keeping the time within is an eight-day two-train chain fusee movement that marks the hour and half-hour with a clear bell strike. The marvelous fussee ensuring consistent timekeeping throughout the week.
Finely pierced hands display the time on an applied silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals. Two additional applied silvered and engraved plaques announce the maker, Philip Avenell, Farnham located beneath the twelve, and Tempus Fugit in the arch. Decorative gilt brass foliate spandrels with faces embellish the corners of the dial.
And finally, this handsome clock bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
