English Split Second Chronograph by S. Smith & Son

Dating to 1910 this English pocket watch was produced by the highly regarded S. Smith & Son of London. The Company was established in the mid 1850s by Samuel Smith who was eventually joined by his son, Samuel Jr., around which time the company was also partnering with highly skilled Swiss producers as indicated on this fine timepiece.

A beautiful 18K yellow gold case houses the high grade 23 jewel lever escapement movement. Further this pocket watch also possesses a highly desirable split second chronograph complication with 60 minute register. The time is displayed on a white enamel dial appointed with Roman numerals, gold spade and whip hands, a blued steel seconds hand, and two subsidiary dials pertaining to the chronometer. Serial #83856 is noted on the movement and its cover. The dial is signed S. Smith & Son; 9 Strand, London; Watchmakers To The Admiralty; Non Magnetisable.

Finally, this superb timepiece bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.

Circa 1910
