European Hand Carved Wooden Shrine
This beautiful European hand-carved wooden shrine stands just under two feet tall and is superbly crafted as a cathedral structure in miniature. Featuring ornate Victorian architectural elements in seemingly endless detail. Expert carvings and turnings abound in the balusters and columns, shingled roofs and turrets, crosses, and fretwork. A recessed central portion displays a crucifix above a small tabernacle with chalice front. The wood has achieved a wonderful aged lustre and patina as well. This marvelous work of art and craftsmanship dates to the turn of the 20th century.
