European Large Oval Bronzed Medallion
This impressive medallion likely adorned the gate of a substantial European structure and is now a fabulous decorative piece. It is very skillfully crafted of bronzed metal with deep relief. Depicting an active scene portraying one of the mythological Greek or Roman gods driving a multi-horse chariot accompanied by angels while two other mythological figures converse nearby. The wonderful classical scene is showcased within a beautiful scalloped border of acanthus leaves interspersed with lion faces and shields. And finally, this unique piece has been fitted for hanging.
