French Anglais Style Gilt Brass Carriage Clock
French clockmakers created the Anglais style carriage clock design specifically for the English market. It appealed to those who did not appreciate the more rounded French styles.
The gilt brass case has a fluted base and top and beveled glass panels. The dial mask features gilt pierced foliate overlays and engraved dial frames.
The porcelain dials, one for the time and a smaller one for setting an alarm, have Arabic numerals.
The eight day timepiece movement has an alarm feature and also the original cylinder escapement. The clock comes with a one year warranty.
Finally, the clock comes with the original leather travel case.
