French Carrera Marble Mantel Clock With Cherubs
A lovely mantel clock crafted in luxurious white Carrera marble and beautifully ornamented. The clock is surmounted by a spread-winged dove within a foliate wreath and holding a foliate branch in its mouth. It is raised on a stepped base supported by 4 free-standing Corinthian columns. Within, an 8-day movement keeps the time and strikes the hour and half-hour. A gilt medallion pendulum swings freely below. The time displays on a hand-painted porcelain dial with colorful floral swag, Arabic numerals, and pierced gilt hands. On the oblong base, 2 winged cherubs flank the columns and relax upon marble recamier forms with gilt medallions. Overall this charming timepiece is supported on 5 gilt beaded feet and mounted with cast bronze ormolu of foliate swags, beading, ribbon, and tassels. Finally, this wonderful timepiece bears a full restoration and one-year warranty.
