French Carved Armoire

A beautiful 18th century carved French armoire. From the flat cornice atop to the serpentine apron below, this grand piece is appointed with finely detailed floral and foliate carvings throughout. A pair of lovebirds is also depicted on one of the carved door medallions. These wonderful pieces of furniture were often referred to as “wedding armoires” and specifically displayed these motifs to symbolize love, prosperity, abundance, and longevity. Standing just over 7 feet tall and bearing a warm rich patina. A great addition to any decor and suitable for a myriad of uses.
