French Cast Bronze Cartel Mantel Clock
This dramatic cartel mantel clock is a magnificent example of French clockmaking. Dating to the late 19th century, the clock boasts an ornate cast bronze case adorned with opulent floral garlands, swags, and flowing acanthus leaves. At the center rests an impressive porcelain cartouch dial displaying the time on cobalt blue Roman numerals accentuated by delicate scrollwork at the center. Flanking the clock face on either side are the figures of two women cast in beautiful detail.
An 8-day movement powers this clock, which strikes the hour and a half-hour on a bell.
This clock bears a complete restoration and a one-year warranty.
