French Gilt Brass Gothic Form Mantel Clock

A splendid French Gothic Revival mantel clock in gilt brass by Costeux of Paris. The case is richly ornamented in a beautifully molded architectural form. Lavishly appointed with fleur de lis finials on an open dome top, side panels with medallions, a front fretted panel depicting a knight on horseback, and a fishnet pattern on the reverse. Also embellished with various scrolling and twist patterns and raised on a five-footed base with scrolling feet.

Within, an eight-day movement keeps the time and marks the hour and half-hour with a bright bell strike. The time displays on a lovely porcelain dial centered by an open gilt fret and appointed with black Roman numerals alternating with contrasting red tridents and trident hands.

Finally, this resplendent mantel clock bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
