French Gilt Brass Mantel Cartel Clock
A delightful French mantel cartel clock evocative of Louis XV style with its lavish and highly sculptural design. Floral and laurel garland drape the case appointed with musical trophy atop. Putti are carved into a central panel of the ornate base on feet accented with acanthus leaves.
An eight-day movement keeps the time, striking a bell at the hour and half hour. The hand-painted porcelain dial features stylized Arabic numerals and Fleur de Lis hands. The black and white colorway of the dial effects a very elegant and appealing visual against the gilt brass.
This handsome clock from the late 1800s has also been restored and comes with a one-year warranty.
