French Gilt Bronze Figural Mantel Clock
This enchanting figural mantel clock features a beautiful, classicly inspired statuary. Surviving with the original gold finish, the detailed figures of two young women lean on each side of the clock, each outfitted in flowing gowns and upswept hair, holding fruit and floral garlands. The clock sits atop an ornate base supported by fierce winged gargoyles, adding to the lavish design. At the center, a colorful hand-painted porcelain dial displays the time on Arabic numerals, with picturesque birds and flowers adorning the center.
An 8-day movement powers the clock, with an hour and half-hour strike on a bell.
