French Napoleon III Patinated Mantel Clock
This wonderful French statue clock portrays a trio of figures in remarkable detail. A popular character in Neoclassical art, the mythical figure Cupid takes central role is in lovely depiction. Shown here in winged form with his trademark bow and quiver of arrows on display, Cupid surmounts the clock conveying amazing movement. Sitting at either side of the clock are two female figures, their flowing robes draping upon the marble steps in masterful realism.
The clock itself resides within a column at the center of the sculptural scene. The convex porcelain dial bears the signature Le Rolle Freres Paris. This artful clock displays the time on cobalt Roman numerals with Arabic minute markings. The sculpture rests atop a rich oval Italian marble base.
The fully restored 8-day two-train movement strikes on a bell on the hour and half hour. The clock bears a one-year warranty.
