French Oval Crystal Regulator with Champlevé by S. Marti & Cie
A lovely crystal regulator made by esteemed 19th century clockmaker Samuel Marti of Paris, France. Marti was recognized with several awards at the Paris exhibitions. This fine example features softer lines from curved beveled glass panels. Colorful champlevé enamel with predominantly blue undertones accents the gilt brass case.
An 8-day spring-driven Pendule de Paris movement keeps the time and strikes a tuned gong at the hour and half-hour. The time displays on a cream-colored enamel dial appointed with floral swag, Arabic numerals, and gilt fleur de lis hands. Also with decorative champlevé accents to the central dial and bezel, as well as the double vial mercury pendulum.
This beautiful timepiece bears a full restoration accompanied by a one-year warranty.
