French Patinated Spelter Figural Mantel Clock
This 19th-century French figural mantel clock displays lovely artistic flair. This charming clock features a young girl holding a basket of flowers in her lap while feeding a bird on her shoulder. The idyllic figure rests atop an ornate pedestal base with elaborate scroll and acanthus leaf castings ending in cast furred paw feet. At the clock’s center rests a Belgian black marble dial displaying the time upon engraved Roman numerals. An 8-day movement powers the clock which strikes the hour and half-hour on a bell.
The dial is signed Cortes Anvers.
