French Patinated Spelter Mantel Clock on Marble Base
This dramatic mantel clock is a magnificent example of French clockmaking and design. Dating to the late 1800s, the clock boasts an ornate cast brass case with a beautiful marble base. Ram’s head columns support the clock on each side with a dramatic marble urn surmounting the case. Opulent floral garlands, swags, and flowing acanthus leaves adorn the clock with a wonderful sunburst pendulum swinging below the clock dial.
At the center rests a charming hand-painted porcelain dial displaying the time on black Roman numerals accentuated by delicate hand-painted floral garlands at the dial center.
An 8-day movement strikes the hour and a half-hour on a tuned gong.
This clock bears a complete restoration and a one-year warranty.
