French Rare Industrial Revolution Compendium Clock

This rare and unique French compendium clock embodies the spirit of the Industrial Revolution with its striking design and multifaceted functionality. The case is crafted from polished bronze with a softly-hued green onyx base, giving it a luxurious presence. At the center of the piece is an 8-day timepiece movement with a jeweled balance wheel escapement. The clock features a silvered Roman numeral dial framed in bronze, with blued steel Breguet-style hands. The piece beautifully incorporates detailed maritime symbols, evoking the technological advancements and exploration of the era. A barometer with a silvered dial sits to the clock’s right, cleverly housed within the design of a compression screw gear. To the left, a ship’s wheel houses a compass, while a rotating world globe at the top, painted with the continents and oceans, further adds to the clock’s maritime theme.

This wonderful multifunctional piece is a beautiful tribute to 19th-century craftsmanship and innovation, making it an extraordinary collector’s item.

This compendium bears a complete restoration and carries a one-year warranty.
