French Regency Style Mantel Clock in Brazilian Rosewood Case
This handsome French mantel clock dates to the early 19th Century. Expertly crafted in a highly figured Brazilian rosewood case with string inlays. Cornice and dentil moldings to the top add architectural interest to its classical Regency styling. Set within an ebonized mask the white porcelain dial features Roman numerals, trefoil hands, and a beaded gilt cast-brass bezel with glass door.
An 8-day duration movement with silk thread suspension keeps the time and strikes a bell at the hour and half hour. This clock also bears a full restoration and comes with a one-year warranty.
