German Arched-top Bracket Clock
A handsome German arched-top bracket clock made in the Victorian Era for the English market. The case of Honduran mahogany exhibits very nice graining and patina. It is fitted with wonderful bronze caryatids set into the canted front corners, ornate frets, finials, and feet. The time displays on a brass dial with a silvered chapter ring, stylized Arabic numerals, trident style hands, and cast brass spandrels. Also, the top outer edge of the chapter ring bears the signature for John Bull & Co., Bedford.
Within a 3-train mechanical movement keeps the time, marking the quarter-hours with a pleasing gong strike. This fine timepiece bears a full restoration and a one-year warranty.
