German Pair of Ruby Cut-To-Clear Glass Goblets

This vibrant pair of German ruby glass goblets dates to the turn of the 20th century. Each goblet is meticulously crafted with a “cut-to-clear” technique where layers of colored glass are applied over a clear glass base. Artisans then skillfully cut into the colored layer to reveal the clear glass beneath, creating intricate patterns, shapes, or images that stand out vividly against the colored surface.
