No. 3-1/2 Parlor Double Dial Calendar Clock By The Ithaca Calendar Clock Company
The Ithaca Calendar Clock Company of New York is notable in the American clock industry for manufacturing calendar clocks in the mid-19th to early 20th centuries.
This No. 3-1/2 parlor double-dial calendar clock features two separate dials to display the time and date. Above, a black paper dial displays the time on contrasting white Roman numerals with simple and elegant hands. Below, the calendar dial displays the month and day of the week upon digital display windows at the left and right, while the numbers reverse-painted around the dial’s perimeter indicate the numeric date. Furthermore, a perpetual complication enables the clock to self-adjust for every deviation in month, day, and leap year.
The clock resides in an elegant walnut case with ebony detail and an ebony carved crown. Within, an 8-day movement powers the clock, which strikes the hour and half-hour on a bell. Finally, an etched glass pendulum bob adds the perfect artistic flourish.
This complex clock bears a complete restoration and a one-year warranty.
