Untreated Burma Ruby and Diamond Ring, 2.25 Carats

This dazzling ring features a rare 2.25 carat ruby of Burmese (Myanmar) origin. Crafted in the 1950’s, this ring is one of high quality, entirely set in platinum. Beginning with the lovely purple-red hued ruby, this gem rests within a sparkle of diamonds. A starburst of 21 near colorless Marquise cut diamonds totaling 1.90 carats radiate out from the center. Further, this ring comes with GIA certification, which attests to its origin and the unheated quality of the stone.

Rubies command the highest price of any colored gemstone, and Burma rubies especially are among the rarest and most highly sought after. Gems from the legendary mines in Myanmar are famous for their saturated color and brilliance. This region produces some of the world’s most valuable gems, but quantities are finite. This makes Burmese rubies among the most desirable of the corundum gemstone family.
