Rare French Cast Brass and Rouge Marble Carriage Clock by J.E. Dupont
This beautiful French carriage clock has a commanding presence. It is a wonderful blend of Paris’s high-quality craftsmanship and artistry in the mid-1800s. The clock is presented in a rare and elaborate classical column brass case, which was cast in the renowned Barbedienne Foundry. The rouge marble base adds to the visual appeal of the clock.
Additionally, the clock is powered by an 8-day lever escapement balance wheel platform movement signed by J.E. DuPont, Paris. The clock strikes a tuned gong at the hour and half-hour with an alarm complication. The hand-painted porcelain dial has blued steel fleur-de-lis hands and is signed “F. Barbedienne, Paris.”
This very desirable carriage clock is restored and comes with a one-year warranty.
