Replica of Carlton House Style Writing Desk
This replica Carlton House style writing desk is meticulously hand crafted in burl walnut. Having all of the wonderful elements that define these desirable desks that were greatly favored by nobility in the 1800’s. This desk favors design characteristics of George Hepplewhite with clean lines, curves, and tapering legs. The curved upper structure atop the writing surface features a scalloped gallery, central stack of three drawers, cubby holes, and curved corner cupboards. It also has the pull-out writing surface inset with hand tooled leather. Further, there are two locking outer cupboards with curved lids. The case is fitted with a central frieze drawer flanked by a square drawer on each side. And finally the desk is raised on square tapering legs resting on whimsical brass feet of frogs on lily pads. This lovely desk was crafted by Theodore Alexander Furniture.
