Rolex Datejust Reference 1601 in Stainless Steel and Gold (1968)
Since its inception in the 1940s, the Datejust represents a milestone in watchmaking history as the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to feature a date display. Since then, this standout timepiece has continued reinventing itself, always standing as an icon of form, function, and prestige.
This particular watch is quite a find for the Rolex collector and purest. Dating to 1968, it has seen minimal wear and has been resting in its box for years. Furthermore, it has never been polished and the original gold bezel has oxidized to a marvelous patina as a result. The case is crafted from Rolex’s high-performance stainless steel and houses the legendary self-winding 26 jewel, caliber 1570 automatic movement that powers the timepiece. The time is displayed on the original dial with raised beveled markers and hands.
In excellent condition overall, this exceptional vintage Rolex has also undergone full servicing and carries an 18-month warranty.
