Swiss 11″ Cylinder Music Box with 20 Note Reed Organ
This impressive Swiss cylinder music box combines mechanical ingenuity and musical creativity. Not only does this delightful machine play a selection of six tunes with exceptional tone and clarity, but a set of bellows underneath the mechanism powers a 20-note reed organ accompaniment bringing incredible dimension to each song.
Placed within a beautifully crafted burl walnut case with kingwood banding, the piece survives with its original tune card on the inside lid, bearing the retailer’s name, French instrument maker Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy. The music box itself is thought to be attributed to Ami Rivenc of Geneva, Switzerland, who was known to produce organ boxes with the same mechanical characteristics and case style.
Finally, a start/stop and change/repeat switch along the right-hand side allows the user to customize their listening experience with ease.
This enchanting music box is fully restored and carries a one-year warranty.
