Swiss Gilt Brass Repoussé Musical Powder Box

This delightful powder box has a cylindrical shape with a hidden two tune cylinder music box inside. Cuendet of Geneva fabricated the mechanism. The box has a repoussé gilt brass foliate design throughout, including the feet. The hinged lid also features a woman’s portrait on top, hand painted on bone. Finally, the underside of the lid holds a beveled mirror. The speckling suggests age and that the mirror is original to the box.
