Swiss Gun Metal Oversized Pocket Watch with Colorful Enamel Dial
This antique pocket watch dates to the early 1900s and maintains its original and colorful kiln-fired dial. Gunmetal cases go through an oxidation process that lends corrosion resistance and ruggedness, while still presenting a handsome case. These oversized gunmetal pocket watches were known to be useful to military personnel for their durability and at-a-glance visibility.
Keeping the time within is a 17 jewel manual wind movement. The time displays on an elaborate white enamel face with gilt King Louis XIV hands and raised gilt decoration throughout to include Roman numerals within contrasting red enamel cartouche. In addition, there are four subsidiary dials representing month, day, date, and seconds/moon phase. This extraordinary timepiece also bears a full restoration and an 18 month warranty.
